Team

At Busy Bees we are staffed by a small team of passionate professionals with a wide range of skills and experience. We love what we do, and we do it with passion.

Lisa Allan

Lisa is an Early Years Practitioner who has helped establish the nursery’s forest-based learning from our inception in November 2019. She brings us a wonderful range of experience working with children of all ages including a home-based childcare business. Lisa joins us from a primary and nursery teaching background in Northumberland, moving to Caithness a few years ago. She is Mum to four of her own children; and an animal lover who enjoys the outdoors horse riding with her daughters.

Francine Andrew

Francine is an Early Years Practitioner who grew up locally. She attended Thurso High School before studying at University of Aberdeen where she completed a degree in History and Sociology. Throughout her time at High School and University she took opportunities to volunteer and gain experience with children and teenagers, including Girlguiding UK and a tutoring scheme placement. Following the completion of her degree, Francine moved back home and is now enjoying her new career and training in Early Years Education. She likes involving children in their learning, particularly outdoors; she is a popular story teller, and currently leads our Virtual Nature School programme with weekly themes and forest-based activities and experiences.

Jane Clarke

Jane is our amazing honorary “nursery granny” who regularly volunteers at the nursery and is part of our committee. Jane who recently retired has lived in Bower for the last 25 years, her children attended the nursery and even though they have all grown up now, when she realized that Busy Bees might close she signed up as part of the committee and is a core part of our team. Jane says she feels the nursery is very important for the future not just of the children, but also the school and community, which both sit at the heart of our village. Even though her own children have grown up, Jane’s grandchildren still love to come and play in the nursery gardens when they visit in the summer.
